194 voices still needed. At ~150 WWII veterans dying per day nationwide, the race is very real.
On July 4, 2026, the United States will celebrate its 250th anniversary. The men and women who saved the free world, who waded through Normandy surf, flew through flak over Berlin, survived the Bataan Death March, and built the peace that followed, are the last living link between that founding promise and the world we inhabit today.
Fewer than 65,000 American WWII veterans remain. At the current rate of approximately 150 deaths per day, roughly 54,000 will pass before America's birthday arrives. Every voice we fail to record is gone forever. 250 voices for 250 years is not a symbolic gesture. It is an urgent act of national memory.
If you know a surviving WWII veteran, a grandparent, neighbor, family friend, please fill out this form. We will reach out respectfully and at the veteran's own pace. No obligation, no pressure. Just a chance to preserve a story.
MilitaryHistoryUnveiled is available for media interviews, speaking engagements, and partnerships related to veteran oral history, education, and preservation.
